Mike and Ilisa Noble, founders of It Takes Two Entertainment, literally grew up with their business!
Mike was still in college back in 1993 when he realized his passion for performing. Originally a broadcast major, he switched to teaching, but was determined to become a DJ. He called on one of the top DJ firms in the area, hoping for an interview, but they never called back. Undaunted, he took his own Bar Mitzvah money and invested it in equipment and had the owner of the store teach him how to use it. “It was tough getting hired at 19, so I told people I was 25. I’m in my thirties now, and I still tell people I’m 25! Only now they don’t believe me…”
In an effort to woo his then-Bensalem High School ‘gal pal’ Ilisa Roberts, he locked-up her Saturday nights by recruiting her to help him work his parties. “We never had an official title,” she points out. “We just went from ‘friends’ to ‘engaged!’” Married in 1999, the talented duo now resides in Cherry Hill, NJ with their three children, Jake, Paige and Ben.
After college, the two pursued teaching careers, but never stopped entertaining. They collaborated with such local well-knowns as Eddie Bruce, Ron Dubin, Melanie Rice and Cutting Edge Orchestras. Originally known as Funtastic Musical Adventures they’ve recently changed their company name to It Takes Two Entertainment. “We feel our new name better reflects who we are—professional, sophisticated and fun!” says Ilisa.
As trained teachers and summer camp division heads, Mike and Ilisa excel at working with children, whether mainstream or special needs. “We get a lot of compliments in terms of how well behaved the kids are at our parties,” explains Ilisa. “Adults really notice that because it allows them to be able to dance and have fun, too.”
Their clients also appreciate how flexible they are and how easy they are to work with. Ilisa brings a wealth of musical knowledge to the table, and Mike is the consummate performer who sets the mood of each party, whether he’s asked to keep it low key or kick things into high gear.
